News of the week – All the Ben Koller you can listen to in 2017

Dave Franklin, frontman of seminal hardcore band Vision, has passed away.


Darkest Hour will release their new album via Southern Lord on 10th March. A song from Godless prophets and the Migrant flora is streaming underneath.

Nidingr (Mayhem) has released a new album entitled The High Heat Licks Against Heaven. A first song is streaming via Bandcamp.

Code Orange is streaming a new song from Forever, their new album and first for « Roadrunner », now a subsidiary of Warner Music. Despite this change in the business, it seems the Roadrunner sound of the 90’s can be found in full effect on this release. Hopefully, this won’t be a Burning red.

Suicide Silence has recorded a new album with Ross Robinson, famed nu-metal producer, and they have picked up a few tricks along the way making their full transition to the nu metal sound of early Korn.

DJ Skarface has put together beats from Dj Shadow‘s Endtroducing with acapellas from Run the Jewels.

Gone is Gone (Mastodon, At the Drive-In, Queens of the Stone Age)’s first album is streaming via Lambgoat.

French webzine Noisy Tapes has showcased the split between two screamo bands, Blind Girls (Fr) and sans visage (Jp).

Sludge legends Cavity are back with a new EP aptly called After death and already available for pre-order via Secret Serpents.

Ben Koller (Converge, All Pigs Must Die, Mutoid Man…) has announced plans to record new albums with Converge, All Pigs Must Die, The Armed and possibly Killer Be Killed (with members of Mastodon, Max Cavalera).

Anderson Paak (NxWorries) and Pharrel Williams are big fans of Jazz Funk hero Thundercat as displayed in a short video where they delve into an acapella version of Them changes. Paak has declared having worked on music for him as well as well Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest) outside of the latest ATCQ.

Old Wounds have found a replacement for their departing vocalist. Brandon Gallagher, previously on drums, will be performing vocals just as he used to in the first incarnation of the band. A new drummer has been recruited and a new album will come out this year via Good Fight.

All Pigs Must Die (Converge, ex. The Hope Conspiracy) has announced new shows in April in Europe.

The Drip has released a new music video in anticipation of their new album via Relapse Records.
