I was saying it a few month ago, it’s good to have Despised Icon back in the scene for many reasons. Now, their return won’t be limited to play shows with old songs since they have announced the release of a new album called Beast. Nuclear Blast will be releasing the album this summer. Hopefully they’ll play a new song at their upcoming shows across Europe with the Impericon tour.
Riley Breckenridge and bassist Ed Breckenridge (both of Thrice), Mike Minnick (Puig Destroyer, ex Curl Up And Die) and Ian Miller and Jon Howell (both of Kowloon Walled City) have formed a new band called Less Art. A teaser is available on Facebook.
Gone is Gone features Tony Hajjar (At the Drive-In), Mike Zarin, Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age, ex. Failure, ex. A Perfect Circle) and Troy Sanders (Mastodon aka the Man of all side-projects) and plans to release a new EP. I generally don’t think much of side projects but this time the results sounds more interesting than usual.

Legendary post-hardcore band Burn is back with a new EP scheduled for 15th July via Bridge nine. The band is also playing an exclusive show at the Old Blue Last in London on the 2nd May.

Axl Rose will handle the vocals for AC/DC on their upcoming European tour. Frontman Brian Johnson is retiring from playing live because of hearing problems that could make him deaf if he continued performing. The band still wanted to perform these shows and Rose has apparently stepped up to offer his help. Since it probably means that AC/DC will be calling it a day after this show, 2016 seems to be a dark year for rock fans all over the world.
Dave Lombardo (ex. Slayer) will be drumming for Suicidal Tendencies on their upcoming European shows.
Post-hardcore, emo and modern metal oriented festival the Hevy festival is canceling their 2016 edition and announced the end of the fest for financial reasons.

This time, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden will suffer the fate that AC/DC already went through.
