News of the week – The Metallica Converge Torche band

Members of Harmonic Cross are involved in a super-group with Robert Trujillo (Metallica, ex. Suicidal Tendencies), Rick Smith (Torche) and Nate Newton (Converge, Doomriders). They intend on recording an EP for the Tony Hawk Foundation to build « free skate parks in lower income area ».

A new Shai Hulud song is streaming to announce their upcoming release and signature on No Sleep Records.

A new 7″ from noisy screamo band Loma Prieta is now streaming. The band should also release a new album via Deathwish.

Crown of Thorns has a new song and it’s surprisingly very good. The song will be featured on the band’s first EP in seventeen years scheduled for the 14th August via Bridge nine.

Members of Incendiary have now a more sludge oriented band called Carcosa.

Glassjaw‘s drummer and bassist have both exited the band.

Saviours‘ new album, Palace of vision, will be out on October via Listenable.

Monster Magnet has reimagined their album Mastermind under the title of Cobras and Fire: The Mastermind Redux and a song from it is streaming. The album will be out on October 9th via Napalm Record and you can read more about it via the PRP.

A new My Dying Bride song is streaming from Feel the misery, their new album scheduled for September 18th via Peaceville.

The new Nile song comes with a disclaimer that they have no political or religious idea. They just wish to present what is happening to relics and symbols of the past in the middle East. Does this mean they don’t want to take side between Isis and the US? In the meantime, the album What should not be unearthed will be out on August 28th via Nuclear Blast.

Canadian death metal super-group Akurion (Cryptopsy, Neuraxis) have debuted their first song.

A new song from The Black Dahlia Murder is streaming from Abysmal, their upcoming album.

Another Forced Order song (Twitching Tongues, Soul Search, Disgrace) is streaming from their first album Vanished crusade scheduled on Revelation on August 7th.

Two songs from Pissgrave‘s Suicide euphoria scheduled via Profound Lore for 7th August are streaming.

Live shows

Trapped Under Ice (Turnstile, Angel Du$t) will return to the stage on September 2015.

Broken Hope‘s live show at the Brutal Assault fest (Czech Republic) in August 2014 has been recorded for a CD/DVD called Live disease.

An extract from Death Angel‘s documentary is streaming. The DVD and CD The bay calls for blood – Live in San Francisco will be released on July 24th.

A full-set from Soilent Green recorded in September 1999 is streaming via Cvlt nation. If you like grindcore and sludge and don’t know this band, check this out immediately.

This tour is not coming anywhere near Europe but the poster is way too cool.
